I though it'd be good to do a little updating on my blog.

A-levels went pretty normal. I do hope my hard work pays off somehow. Then again, I'm very sure that even if I were destined to face disappointment, I will not succumb to absolute dejection for I have already done what I could.

Prom was fun, but it kinda ended way too fast, way too soon. Took the pictures, had the laughs. In the end, you're just going to have to move on, for life has so much more to offer. Take pride in what you've done, be happy because you've been where you've been. I will always look back at these memories with delight and satisfaction.

Post-As is just totally overrated... or maybe not so if I hadn't been investing my efforts into crafting personal essays that ultimately might not even warrant me that dream university education. You have only yourself to blame for your prelim results.

Still, I toll, for I am tired of living life with regrets. I'll do what I can to sway fate in my favour (yes I'm pretty much a proponent of free-will).

Sometimes, I read about the lives of successful applicants to all the top schools. I feel inadequate, inferior. I find myself consumed by envy and despondence.

Have I not done anything meaningful in my time? Am I simply not there yet?

I refuse to believe that, thus in resolution I endeavour.
I just hope it isn't way too late.

Lastly, I would life to add a bit on how much I love my class. 2 years - I wouldn't have had it any other way. We might not keep in touch forever, but the memories I shall forever hold dear.

With that, I say bring it on, 2011.

k 1 week over... chem p3 was the dream start its so hard my dick pales in comparison.

gp was the usual uncertainty... but the feeling's that i did better than prelims, just hope the marker's nice =/

bio was simple enough but math was so easy its ridiculous lucky i didnt spend much time studying.

sometimes you really get mindfucked by results. Its perfectly fine not to do well when you have so willingly resigned to your fate after the paper.

What hits you the hardest would be the anomalies that occur out of nowhere. They emerge and strike fear and horror into your unprepared, feeble heart. Who would have thought?

But thats perfectly fine with me too. I like the challenge. The agony is only gonna last a few days, after which i'm sure im gonna be filled with so much angst i could picture myself plotting the letter 'A's on my results slip.

on a side note, i really enjoyed the badminton session together. A 7G guys get-together definitely provides the best therapy to my mundane life as of now.
A great bunch of mates. We might not stay together for eternity, but you guys have surely secured a reservation in my memories.

tml's gonna be the last day of formal college life and it sucks i know. and i have plenty of reminders in the form of rants from many that it sucks too. but we'll tide over this period of hardship. (:

i shall not talk about the things i'll miss. Rather, i choose to reminisce in satisfaction the many happy memories hwach has filled me with.

let tml be a day filled with happiness and crazy stuff.

but really, this might be just another masquerade, a brave attempt to shield my heart from the obvious.

after all, i've spent the whole night feeling real empty. the sense of longing is slowly intoxicating my mind.

i just watched 500 days of summer and its (Y) made me ponder like some frog pond.

anw famine camp just ended, i shan't rant about the negatives cos its over and its for a good cause i hope. but i am a tad disappointed as next year im prolly gonna be in NS and this would prolly be my last one and look how it turned out :(

oh well, i've had my cheap thrills along the way.

sometimes i believe the extrovert part of me is depriving my inner soul of the introspection i really need.
after all, life isnt about a continuous supply of lame jokes and fooling around every day.
we need to think deep and thats what we're given a brain for.

im not telling myself to stop the rubbish bcos its a part of me. i do take after my mother in that we both are really out-going.
however, its more about the balance i should strike between superficial dealings with others and serious cultivation of reliance and trust in a strong friendship.

i guess when study stress gets to you, you really think alot about life?

that was the 1st word that came to my mind when i thought of arbitrary retardation.

SO MUCH HAS happened omg.

1st and foreplay, floorball.

it has all come to a sad conclusion. one that is filled with dread of an abrupt end to all the sweat and toil and fun. how i wished i had one more year.

but looking back at all the rubbish we've had, all the joy and ecstasy, the thrill from learning new tricks, the lovely acquaintances. these are the elements that make up my periodic table.

been reading blogs of many and im really very impressed by the level of optimism some exude despite having the odds pinned so mercilessly against them.

its a really important virtue (optimism) that boy, you seem to lack sometimes. i've been prone to feeling down in the face of minor complications recently and that certainly isnt a good sign.

time to think positive, feel good, discard that facade and attain self-actualisation (wow maslow)

blocks tests are over for a week already. no surprises so far i sorta expected my math result.

and that was my best subject (:

right school's been real monotonous as usual. guess thats the year 2 depression. glad im getting cheap thrills here and there, and making random friends that seem to provide me more of such.

for starters, i would like declare that i'm back to my old habit of not starting sentences with capital letters, though i would make every effort to punctuate. (holding shift or slamming the caps lock is just too troublesome for my feeble willpower.)

alright, GP. This is really one tough nut to crack. Yes, harder than those i had after lunch today.
sometimes i really don't know how i can possibly improve for this subject. its easy to convince yourself to read more, but the other subjects havent exactly been the friendliest companions to this poor, neglected one.

thats not really the point of today's input. well, in short, i think im embarking on the phase of the year when i begin to neglect everything else and study, or at least attempt to.

im not proud of it seriously, but walking out of the exam hall feeling like a complete fucktard for no apparent reason isnt exactly the most awesome sensation to kick-start your day with.

i find myself dragging my spirit along like a helium balloon threatening to escape my grip and fly off to the horizon.

i just couldnt do anything right for today, and its not the 1st time i've been thrown into such a predicament.

the effed up bit is, whenever i feel like this, i just wanna go home and study and trap myself within an impenetrable emotional barrier.

so i homed and slept for 4 hours, missing what could have been a kickass dinner with some awesome lovelies. its was a god-sent, a stress ball in every sense.

This event was damn secks, i take my hat off to all the directors. I personally liked Apollo's for its innately implicit plot portrayed in an explicit manner. Its really a work of a prodigy, for sometimes you do not get plays half as good at two times the price.

Artemis's was cheesy, well done David, if only the ambience was more suitable for the voices.

Now, now, this post was actually merely for the thrill of peppering my new blogskin with tasteless seasoning, but it turned out to be quite the delicacy.

School's being really a chore. I need more time at home to study, seriously.

laughoutloud i just typed in my NRIC for blogger login ben dan yi ge.

okay i guess since my bday just passed i should blog now that i'm 18 and legal and secksual. (srsly no link im blardee tired).

Recently, I've been reading random blogs and I've come to the conclusion that most people around me type in English of considerable competency. Hence i shall punctuate properly and begin my sentences with a reluctant tap on "Caps Lock".

OK. I'm really too lazy to upload any birthday related photos as i've always been saving photos for one sudden kaboom of a photo post.

It was fun, simple and spent with lovely people, of whom i really want to credit the incredible individuals with whom i've spent the night on 22nd with - my family members.
Sometimes, just sitting at the dining table with a cutter in hand and a candle in view, drowned peacefully in the melodious familiarity of the birthday tune, could make one feel like the most wonderful person on earth.

Thanks too, to all those who have wished me a happy year ahead, and the 2 lovely people who has brought to my attention that MOF is a great place to dine at, albeit the false illusion of its economical value (i only had to pay for GST like boomzsx secks bomb). But thanks tan POH CHAN (omg im still laughing) and meanmean.

today was kaboom the year has been kind to me so far =|

saturday was crazy i hosted 2 groups of jap students in one day thats liek 8 hrs omg i didnt even have enough energy left to shop with clem and ern just went home straight with lich. but jap ppl are just "BOOMZXS" like seriously the most awesome, friendliest and appreciative people in the world wooohoo.

ok that aside, i've been enjoying the angel-mortal thing so far, guess they're right in saying that you'll only come to enjoy such stuff in j2 when any sort of entertainment can now serve as that tiny bit of sanctuary in a mugging hell-hole.

I haven't blogged for so long i must've turned caucasian.

its 2010 i needed to remind myself that, and i'm doing this in favour of scribbing on a long forgone piece of paper with some math on it.

but hell yeah im not gonna bring up the negativity.

i've got travel plans woohoo.

after taiwan at the end of this year, im most prolly going xiamen again pay a visit to that dear nanny of mine <3

then train to shanghai and pray that the expo isnt over.

and hopefully try to catch a train/boat/plane (urgh) to south korean. i needa check out the comestic technology of that country and how it manifests itself into human flesh affectionately known as S.N.S.D.

if the korea thing doesnt work out i'll definitely wannna go to canada. take a rail ride across the 2nd biggest piece of mud in the world definitely sounds better of a blast than al qaeda.

so then, in this year where im surely gonna be imprisoned by "HWA CHONG INSTITUTION, EST 19...", i'm going to set aside new year resolutions for once.

okay now im finally feeling settled enough to blog about the trip that was almost one month ago wth

i shan't do a day by day analysis, just condensed and powerr hah. really im lazy with words now so go fb and see the photos!

kk so i left on the 10th oct and it was a rly long plane flight. stopped at seoul, was getting worried over all the late farewell messages (would they get extra charges lol!)

the plane ride was fine and we reached with our luggage and a pair of curious eyes that couldnt stop spinning around, struggling to catch a glimpse of everything lol

slept when we reach (i know thats like the dumbest thing to do when u've just arrived at a new place. but mom was a pig and i sortof became a piglet?)

dinner-ed with team members at a nearby pizzaria. good food and coach paid omg thanks mrs giam

the next day we had a welcoming session and we went up to answer a few questions. talk about impromptu LOL they asked us alot of shit that wasnt in the list they got us to prepare. but being the talented and smart ones we tore down the questions with ridiculous ease.

then in the afternoon we went to the coastal areas for a tour. was quite secks and we had the welcome dinner at some chinese place. rly i like chinese food but its yuck =/

had workshops in the next 3 mornings and made lotsa new friends. really the cultural diversity is AMAZING and i just love it.

had free time on monday night and mom and i sort of got lost lol. nah not rly since im so good at navigating. but their night culture is quite awesome plus the weather's so romantic.

had awards dinner on tuesday night where we met all the dua pai ppl lol. surprisingly i wasnt feeling pressurised and handled the conversations with relative ease (note the surprise, not the egotism im not trying to boast)
got the trophy but the next night was what we had all been waiting for...

MACbook! haha. some found it more appealing than the recognition itself LOL. but the little thing's sweet and we were quite sad during the farewell dinner.
took pics with all our new friends and left.

please there was this pool player we had 124512351234123 shots and still couldnt get the black cue in. really wanted to slaughter him cos he looked so professional and was hogging on to the table for arggggghhh

ok the next day some teammates left but mom and I extended for 2 days haha. was feeling abit weird cos i know theres much to explore but somehow i didnt feel so free and at times thought it would've been better to leave early.

but the next 2 days proved me wrong. awesome city, loved the coastal scenes, loved the night-life (though short-lived, lol shops close at 8.30 wth), loved the people, and loved the levi's =D

well we sort of did most of the travelling on foot but being the filial son i agreed to take public transport quite a few times as mom was tired =DDD

and we stopped over at hk on our way back hahahaa. awesome place loved their england LOL. HK uni was quite erm... polytechnic like? i thought it would've been more grand lol i guess i might just pick tokyo uni instead. (wow sounds like im guaranteed a place alr eh.)

okay so this sums up an awesome trip that was really awesome and made me wanna have such awesome experiences again someday woohoo

so i shall list down the 5 things i wanna do before i leave this world!

1. scale the entire length of canada by car, stopping at all major cities and attractions (gosh i duno how im gonna get that kinda time.)

2. stay in taipei for 3 weeks (next year!)

3. have 2 pretty daughters then i can boast muahahhahahahaaaa

4. be competent in at least one musical instrument.

5. master japanese.

i really need a break, end of this year.

yesterday was quite eventful. its usually at times like this when my priorities get jeopardised and i have absolutely no idea and no control over my actions - past, present, and future.

helplessness, but i was never in a precarious situation.

it all amounts to a weird precadiment, one which i could hardly account for using language.

the above could be a whole load of bull, for nothing significantly negative happened, and i did enjoy myself reasonably well.

well its mid autumn, and the only taste of mooncake i've had so far would be the microscopic sample from the poor salesman at bengawan solo with clement.

when i was 4 i remembered, i used to give animated demonstrations of power ranger K-O moves in front of my parents.
egotism and shame were still mere potential, never an actuality.
when i was 12, my mum would scream at me in public, usually for trivial matters (walking too slowly to the bus-stop and what not) when it was that time of the month for her. i vaguely felt the rush of fluid to my cheeks, my temple, my ears.
oblivious to this phenomenon, i felt awkward nevertheless.

when i was 15 and my parents called 3 times a day while i was overseas with friends. i started to feel embarrassed though foolishness was knocking at my forehead all the while.

i just couldnt find the door.

i had a look at my old blog and the way it passed away most boringly.

it was real fun, but next time im only gonna cosplay on one of the days at most...

i edited the post as i remembered the calling for my thoughts.

i caught up with quite some pri sch mates which i havent seen for a long time.

they're basically either in poly or jc now.
yes yes. you're in hci, nice top school. but to think of it, isnt that all there is to it? and seriously, you didnt even take the o lvls, how do u know u actually deserve a place.
as i caught up with those old mates, many of them are accomplished musicians, sportsmen, school leaders, living their lives to the fullest.
what about yubin then? really as i backtrack, i havent achieved anything at all over the 4 years in secondary school. you embrace that lazy attitude of yours and get all so proud of it but at the end of the day have you ever thought about how it kills all the potential achievements you could have had in your life? its been 4 years now and all i do is just, well, there isnt anything i achieved that really is worth mentioning.

you got into hiphop, but stopped after 1/2 a year.
you went for badminton lessons, but stopped after 2 years.
you picked up the acoustic guitar, but switched to bass in less than a month.
and you are completing neglecting bass now.

and vivid images of that brief spell at volleyball in primary school solidified in my mind. you were improving fast. the coach liked it. you quitted.
your teammate who used to learn from you, he became captain of his secondary school team.

i don;t even see the point of some lectures, especially biology. seriously, we just go there and fill in the blanks and then leave. wth?

i need to try to read the notes during lectures man. even though the lecturer's voice is often irritating, and thus ensuring that i could never get a good read for more than 3 minutes.

and then i have to go home and attempt to re-read everything before trying tutorial questions.

2. I conclude that I'm no longer Bi, seeing him (duh we all know who) doesnt seem to get me sexcited that much anymore. I guess it was all admiration and not infatuation in the first place.

i sort of quitted frisbee, in co now! (cello)

i really hope i can learn how to play this instrument well hmm.

I seriously think i'm taking my work more seriously nowadays.

Take for example, math. i actually completed the whole tutorial 2B on my own the day b4 the class assignment. i checked answers with francis babe quite a few times and all was going well.
i guess the CO music in the background really helped. (and thus making known where i was studying -.-)

and the class assignment on the next day... i think i can get more than 10 out of 16 leh. see, hard work does pay man.

well i just have to say that i'm glad the class is so bonded. i simply could not be more thankful.

it's amazing being in a class in which 16/26 people are girls, and there're hardly any politics at all (oh hoho ho...hee)

so today we WII-ed and VODKA-ed (some of us). i enjoyed the htht session.
i could feel my passion for gossiping being fuelled by my nonsensically lovable classmates.

well today i'm elated. duno why.

maybe, JUST maybe, trash talk might just be the long-sought after solution to my ridiculous mood-swings which noone knows of.

so i should start studying much harder and avoiding people with flu if i wanna avoid bettering my nobel prize achievement for math.

but to look on the bright side. i'm still the top 95% of the H2 math cohort.

1st day of march hols! (proper at least)

at least i settled some stuff with vk group.
almost full team luh.
everyone's quite nice and friendly (me being the most adorable as usual).
haha the pledge of commitment to the team sort of made my day more fruitful.

then homed early due to curfew as usual.

okayy i shall try to do some math now. i dun wanna be 1040th out of 1200~ students again. (though im still the top 95%! ((((: congratulations much eh.)
